STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND ACTION

THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF NATIONAL ORGANIC CONSUMER ALLIANCE IS TO:
I. PRESERVE ORGANIC INTEGRITY AND SAFEGUARD THE WILL OF THE ORGANIC CONSUMER.
 A. THROUGH CONSUMER DEVELOPED, AND REGULATED ORGANIC CERTIFICATION STANDARDS.

II. EMPOWER THE ORGANIC CONSUMER.
 A. WITH IMPLEMENTATION OF PRECEDING ARTICLE I. A.
  B. UNITE THE VOICE OF ORGANIC CONSUMERS ACROSS THE NATION.
   1. WITH SURVEYS AND REVIEWS OF NATURAL/ORGANIC PRODUCTS AND SERVICES.
   2. THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NATIONAL ORGANIC COMMUNITY AND IT’S RESOURCES.
    a. PROVIDING AND SUPPORTING RESOURCES FOR EDUCATION ABOUT NATURAL HEALTH AND ORGANIC PRINCIPLE.
    b. ENABLING AND SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMMUNITY GROUPS, BUYING CLUBS, COMMUNICATION NETWORKS AND SOCIAL FUNCTIONS FOR THE ORGANIC COMMUNITY.

III. AID THE ADVANCEMENT OF LOCALIZED, SUSTAINABLE ORGANIC AGRICULTURE.
 A. ENABLING AND SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMMUNITY SUPPORTED ORGANIC AGRICULTURE.
  B. PROVIDING EASY TO ACCESS, RESPECTABLE, MINIMAL COST, ORGANIC CERTIFICATION.
  C. ENABLE AND SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF LOCALIZED, SUSTAINABLE, ORGANIC AGRICULTURE EDUCATION AND RESEARCH.
  D. PROVIDING LOCAL MARKETING RESOURCES TO SMALL ORGANIC GROWERS.

IV. KEEP AGRICULTURAL METHODS AND THEIR PRODUCTS HEALTHY AND SAFE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND CONSUMERS.
  A. PETITION FOR MANDATORY LABELING OF ALL FOODS WITH GENETICALLY ENGINEERED INGREDIENTS.
  B. PETITION FOR INCREASED CORPORATE ACCOUNTABILITY.
  C. PETITION FOR INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS TO RESEARCH AND BENEFIT FROM THE CULTIVATION OF ALL NATURAL PLANT LIFE.
  D. SUPPORT EXPANDED LOCAL, SUSTAINABLE FOOD PRODUCTION AND MARKETING.
